Range Safety Officer – NRA Certification Course
Best For: Experienced gun owners who seek basic focused training for volunteering or working at a range, or being responsible for a group of recreational shooters at a private location practicing shooting skills. A highly recommended course for shooters wishing to enter or complete instructor training.
Benefits: This course prepares the student with a proper mindset and understanding of responsibilities needed to safely supervise shooting activities, at indoor or outdoor ranges or in the field. Emergency situation management and SOP enforcement and shooter mentoring are also part of this class.
The NRA RSO (Range Safety Officer) Course is a valuable first step in enhancing your awareness of gun safety where there are multiple shooters, on a formal range or shooting at a remote location. Students will acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
These skills are essential to volunteering or working at a range in the RSO role. They are also valuable for keeping a group of recreational shooters safe while shooting together.
There are no pre-requisites, however, basic experience with firearms is recommended. This course is the prerequisite for the Chief Range Safety Officer Certification Course. It is also excellent training prior to attending the Basic Pistol Instructor Course. For those students wishing to become a Basic Pistol Instructor, this course is valuable when working with multiple ranges for off-site shooting qualifications.
$145 for Tuition and Books, VET/LEO Family discounts are available. Course time: Approximately 9 hours…
We also do private group classes (4 seats minimum) for friends/ families in all courses. The CCW course modules have some flexibility in private courses.

Are you a new firearm owner or planning on acquiring one? Has it been years since you had the time to fire one? Did you get your CWP and want more training?
This course meets and exceeds the training requirements to obtain a Florida CCW permit, but this is not the 2-3 hour “Florida CWP” course. This instructor provides both new and experienced shooters with an updated, refined experience in the classroom and on the range. This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning, storing, and operating a pistol safely. This 8-hour course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor.
Most importantly, during this course you will build the confidence and enthusiasm needed to have fun AND be safe. Students will be exposed to skills improvement methods that you can take home for the future. There will be Q&A time, quality NRA Class Materials, and a hands-on shooting skills experience.
Course topics include:
We offer the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting in the On-line “Blended” format, the ILT (Instructor led Classroom) format, allowing you to learn from home, and complete the course with a short “at-the-range” session. These choices allow for the most convenience as you begin your NRA Training Journey.
We will provide handguns to use if you do not have one and will provide input on current choices in handguns. Please contact the instructor for details. Students that do own a handgun should bring their handgun and 100 rounds of ammunition.
IMPORTANT: Students must not be ineligible to possess a firearm. If you feel that you might have an impediment to firearm ownership, please contact the instructor prior to registration. Wear t-shirt type collars for safety.
$150 for Tuition, Books, and Range Fees. VETS/LEO Family discounts are available, Ammunition required: 100 rounds. Course time: Approximately 8 hours. Please contact us at [email protected] or call 727-470-0960.

Best For: New gun owners who seek basic focused training for carrying a concealed weapon, obtained a Florida CWP with a “short course” and want more in-depth training, or wish to get a Florida CWP but have more training than an entry level license “short” course.
Benefits: Exceeds Florida CWP Requirements, blend of some basic knowledge and CCW, provides insight into a proper mindset and knowledge needed to carry a concealed handgun.
This next generation course meets and exceeds the training requirements to obtain a Florida CCW permit, but this is not the 2-3 hour “Florida CWP” course. This next-level course is designed to provide the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to safely and responsibly carry a concealed pistol for personal protection.
Having a license to conceal and carry a firearm is a major responsibility. This instructor provides both new and experienced shooters with an updated, refined experience in the classroom and on the range. This 9-hour (plus shooting time) course includes classroom and range time. You will be exposed to easy-to-learn shooting skills, responsible and safe gun ownership, handling, and storage methods. Additionally, you will become confident in additional positions, drawing, holstering, and the responsibilities of carrying concealed. Students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Course topics include (but are not limited to):
Most importantly, during this course you will build the confidence and enthusiasm needed to have fun AND be safe. Students will be exposed to skills improvement methods that you can take home for the future. There will be Q&A time, quality NRA Class Materials, and a hands-on shooting skills experience.
We will provide handguns and holsters to use if you do not have them (wear a sturdy belt). If you have equipment questions, we will do our very best to answer them. Please contact the instructor for details. Students that do own a handgun should bring their handgun and 150 rounds of ammunition. Bring your holster and a sturdy belt, wear t-shirt type collars for safety. We will observe social distancing guidelines and provide a better class experience by reduced class size.
IMPORTANT: Students must not be ineligible to possess a firearm. If you feel that you might have an impediment to firearm ownership, please contact the instructor prior to registration.
$175 for Tuition and Books and Range Fees, VETS/LEO Family discounts are available, Ammunition required: 150 rounds. Course time: Approximately 9 hours .
