Junior Shooters

Wyoming Antelope Club offers junior shooting programs designed to introduce young shooters to safe firearm handling, recreational shooting, competitive rifle, and action pistol sports.

Youth Shooting Programs at WAC

The Junior Shooters program gives young participants the opportunity to learn firearm safety, build confidence, and experience multiple shooting disciplines in a supervised environment.

WAC offers recreational, competitive, and action pistol opportunities for junior shooters. Programs are designed to support beginners as well as juniors interested in developing competition-level skills.

Recreational

1st & 3rd Thursday

Introductory program exposing juniors to different shooting disciplines.

Competitive

Monday & Tuesday

6:15 PM to approximately 8:30 PM.

Minimum Age

12 Years

For the competitive Air Rifle and Smallbore Rifle program.

Cost

No Charge

Equipment is supplied to interested participants.

Junior Programs

Recreational, Competitive & Action Pistol

WAC provides several youth-focused shooting opportunities. Review each program below to determine which path best fits the junior participant.

Recreational Program

This program meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. It is designed as an introductory program and exposes participants to various shooting disciplines.

Safety classes can also be arranged for private groups.

Competitive Program

This program meets twice a week on Monday and Tuesday evening from 6:15 PM to approximately 8:30 PM.

The focus is on Air Rifle and Smallbore Rifle (.22) in competitive fields, including Olympic-style disciplines and collegiate-level shooting development.

Older participants may also be accommodated depending on experience and program availability.

Age Minimum age is 12 years. Juniors remain eligible through the year of their 20th birthday.

Cost, Equipment & Ammunition

Both programs are offered at no charge, and equipment is supplied to interested junior participants.

For the competitive program, ammunition is provided during initial meetings. Regular participants will later be asked to purchase their own ammunition.

Action Pistol Juniors

Action Pistol incorporates sports such as USPSA, IDPA, and similar disciplines.

Juniors interested in action pistol sports can participate in drills and training every 2nd Saturday of the month.

Participants occasionally receive instruction from nationally recognized competitive shooters visiting the WAC facility.
